I love playing blues. The swing feel and an expressive solo brings my soul to a different dimension and let my thoughts fly away. Exactly what you need after a hard work week. Wait wasn’t blues not all about hard work and… OK, let stick to techniques.
Sooner or later the subject of modes will appear on the horizon. While definitely not the first thing to learn it is an important tool for expressing oneself and to be able to solo over different chord types found in blues, rock or jazz.
Motivation is what keeps us going. But you have to set expectations and keep going to get results.
Coming from a completely “jazz-less” background I never understood “what the fjuzz is about”, but seeing the virtuosity of the players I was always wondering how do they ever get to that level.
If there would be one style I would like to play it would be blues. With my 15-minutes-a-day I am not as fast as I would like to, but after all there are so many things you “have to do” (earning some money to live on is not the least of them!). Hereby a short summary of learnings and “cheat-sheets”.
As New Year is about to start I was looking for the nice books to advance further in my blues playing.

So it already a year ago that my short illness inspired me to rethink my “time investments” and to decide “once and forever” to pick guitar again. Perhaps a good time to think back and reflect on the past year.
